Weight Gain PunishmentMany people feel that when the go on a diet that they should punish themselves. They may think the following: - I must reduce my food intake to lose weight. It would serve me right to starve because I've been so Diet Bad for so long. Yeah, my body deserves to be starved. I'll show my body who is boss!
- I must blow out my body with mega exercise so that the fat will blow away. My body has sat for so long that I'll show it what it is really like to hit the dirt. Running, hiking, canoeing - yeah, I'll make my body do all of that in one day. And if there is time, I may even make my body lift weights - a LOT of weights. So there, take that, fat body! Well, it doesn't have to be that way. You can enjoy a very healthy diet while still enjoying the things that you enjoy eating. You don't have to punish yourself. And you don't have to kill yourself with exercise. Moderate is the key to both exercise and food intake. One thing is for certain, if you kill yourself dieting, you're guaranteed to lose a lot of weight. When we were small and did bad, what happened? Mom, dad, and teacher punished us. That carries over to our adulthood. We feel like we have to punish ourselves for being diet bad. Why are some people afraid of snakes and others spiders? All in the upbringing. Same comparison with food-bad/food-good. |
