The Lazy DietStay fit for life. How? Play Like a Kid for Keeps! 1. Some people want VERY BADLY to continue to do the things that they use to. But they cannot. Think about this. You have a young dog that likes to sit beside you on a bench. Every day you go into the garden and relax with your dog who is sitting on the bench beside you. Every day, the dog hops onto the bench, effortlessly. Then one day, he stumbles a bit - just a tiny bit. It's an ever so slight stumble.
The next day he jumps up with no problems. Over the years you notice that he is having more and more trouble hopping onto the bench. One day, he just can't do it anymore. As humans, we have the same problem. We want to desperately continue to do the things that we want to, but there comes a time when that may not be possible. Some seniors resent youth - not because they covet their unexhaustive energy, rather because youth doesn't have an appreciation for their capabilities. You see, sometimes we just don't miss something until it disappears. We don't appreciate what we have until it is gone. 2. The good news is that there are some things that you can do to keep your vitality at an optimum level! Knock over Mr. or Ms. Lazy and begin to think like a kid again. Remember the things that you did back then? Hanging from trees, running down the lanes, jumping rope, hopping, skipping and so forth. While some of these activities may no longer be feasible, find new, fun, exciting modes of activity. By ditching those lazy days and lazy ways, you'll be increasing your level of health and possibly adding years to your life. |
