Eating Behavior - ChildhoodWe have a moral obligation to our children to ensure that they have all the tools necessary for a long, healthy and prosperous life. In my humble opinion, in Today's World, we appear to be equipping our children with all the tools necessary for a prosperous life, but health is long forgotten.
With childhood obesity on the rise, the Health World is floundering about - trying to discover a solution to remold the daily diet into a healthy one rather than one filled with fat, sugar and too many calories. To add flame to the already roaring fire, children don't get out and move like they used to and time playing video games and watching the telly is favored more than an old-fashioned game of hopscotch. Indoor movie theaters have created vats of hot buttered popcorn and cola. Sport functions have created nachos and chili dogs. And with a touch of a redial button, a triple cheese, triple meat pizza can be handmade, then hand-delivered to the door in a matter of minutes. To add even higher flames to the roaring fire is our children's pitiful examples of the daily diet mirrored by schools and parents. Until our children are taught nutrition properly, those healthy habits cannot be passed on to future generations. This may indeed, be a long process in curing.... Diet Nanny |
